Radiation

A nuclear threat.

A fog encompasses the areas of the nuclear power plant in Krško and the abandoned city. Staying in these areas for a prolonged period of time or carrying irradiated items will cause the player to be exposed to RADIATION PRESENCE. At first, the player will not feel any side effects, but after a while, ACUTE RADIATION SYNDROME (also known as radiation poisoning) will develop, which will start to destroy the cells inside the body.

Checking For Radiation

To see if any of your items or clothing are irradiated, a GEIGER COUNTER is required. When the Geiger counter is held, all irradiated items and clothing will show a small nuclear symbol in the corner.

How To Prevent Radiation

The best way to prevent radiation exposure is by wearing a HAZMAT SUIT before entering the affected areas. Make sure that the hazmat suit is in the best shape possible – suits with lower durability will let radiation through and won't provide adequate protection.

How To Heal Radiation

Radiation can be treated in multiple ways: smaller amounts of radiation presence can be blocked with POTASSIUM IODIDE PILLS. Washing yourself in a body of water and washing any irradiated items with soap will remove radiation, as well as sweating and urinating.
