How to reel in a prize catch.

One of the most relaxing things you can do is sit on a pier or at the shore of a lake, listen to nature, rest, and cast your line. There are many different fish that can be caught, both freshwater and saltwater ones. Different fish can be caught in different bodies of water, at different times, and using different baits.

Assembling Your Fishing Gear

To start fishing, you will need a fishing rod and on that rod, the following attachments (in preferred order):

Casting The Line

When standing next to a body of water with a rod in your hand, press [Left click] to enter the minigame. Hold [Left click] to determine how far you want to cast your line.

After the line has been cast, reel it in with [Scroll up] or give it more leeway with [Scroll down].

Reeling In A Fish

Keep an eye out on the bobber. Once it sinks underwater, it means you have a bite. When that happens, press [Left click] to start reeling in your fish.

The bar that was used to cast the line will start to increase and decrease as the fish struggles. If the bar reaches the maximum, it will break and the fish will get away. It is a balancing act of reeling the fish in as it gets tired, and reeling out as the fish tries to break the line.

When you manage to catch the fish, it can either be kept by pressing [Ctrl + ↑] or released back into the water by pressing [Ctrl + ↓].
