A five-shot, bolt-action military rifle developed between 1882 and 1891, used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. With over 37 million units produced since its introduction in 1891, it ranks among the most mass-produced military bolt-action rifles ever, and despite its age it has seen service in conflicts worldwide up to the present day. Uses 7.62x54mm ammunition.
